Hello everyone and welcome to the weekend!
My husband and I are headed off for a shopping day date tomorrow in preparation for our trip to Boston later this month, and I’m unreasonably excited! It’s been a bit since we’ve set off just the two of us, so I’m looking forward to even a very ordinary adventure.
But for now, I wanted to share with you the new product that I’ve just launched!
I recently found myself needing to assess an online student’s phonological/phonemic skills online and needed something simple and efficient to get the data I needed.
So, I made it!
This quick assessment covers 12 areas of phonological and phonemic awareness:
1. Word Awareness/Counting Words in a Sentence
2. Syllable Counting
3. Syllable Deletion with Compound Words
4. Onset-Rime Blending
5. Rhyme Identification
6. Rhyme Generation
7. Phoneme Isolation
8. Phoneme Blending
9. Phoneme Segmenting
10. Phoneme Addition
11. Phoneme Deletion
12. Phoneme Manipulation
You’ll get data forms 👆🏻 that provide the skill, a suggested prompt, the coordinating Google Slides, and the approximate age of development.
Some slides 👆🏻 have visual answer choices.
Some slides 👆🏻 have visuals that are for interest/reinforcement but not answer choices.
Each slide is numbered to coordinate with the data page and provides you with shortcuts to get back to the table of contents slide (particularly helpful if you’re only assessing certain areas) and to go to the next slide.
In the (hopefully very near) future, I’ll be adding a set of self-correcting slides to this product! They’re just taking a little longer to perfect 😂
Like most of my products, this assessment is designed to be simple, efficient, and low prep! You’ll need a set of data pages printed for each student and access to Google Slides. That’s it!
