Discover more from The Calm SLP
Happy Friday to you all!
I mentioned last week, in this letter and on Instagram, that the new website is UP! ✨
Maybe you’ve had a chance to give it a look? If not, I’ve got some sneak peeks 👇🏻
My hope for this website (and, A Happy Learner in general) is that it will fulfill those wonderful words from William Morris:
Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be beautiful or believe to be useful.
If A Happy Learner is my house, then beauty and usefulness for educators is my goal. That means all things minimal, cozy, straightforward, effective, versatile, calming, and happy.
I hope this new website reflects that both in design and in the content I’m dreaming up for it. I hope you’ll pop in to visit regularly, but of course, I’ll always share what’s going on there in this space.
At this moment, you’ll find…
a lengthy review of dialogic and interactive reading
my thoughts on temporarily (or permanently) leaving the SLP field
how I chose habits for this school year (because I still think that way)
a review of mental health as it relates to the educational system
I hope you’ll find that this content satisfies in terms of both usefulness and beauty. And I hope it gives you a good idea of what to expect moving forward.
A Brief Store Update
Like the website, I’m working hard to align my TpT store with these same values. That means a rather arduous process of reviewing, proofreading, expanding, deleting, rewriting, designing, and more. I’m working on products themselves, covers, thumbnails, and descriptions. It’s slow but rewarding!
If you’ve purchased one of my products before and have anything to share—a typo you found, a suggestion to make it better, thoughts on how it’s best used—please consider answering a few questions on this form. And of course, don’t forget to rate and review on TpT for store credit!
Hoping you have such a happy weekend,
Christin ☕️
