language processing hierarchy unit updates
a happy update: volume V
Happy Friday, everyone!
You may have noticed that there was no newsletter last week, and that’s because I was in Boston from last Friday through Tuesday. With that in mind… there’s not a lot going on around here!
Basically, all I have to offer to you this week are products that I’ve updated in the store!
This unit targets one of the earlier skills in the Language Processing Hierarchy. The areas targeted in the hierarchy are labeling, word associations, functions, categorizing, synonyms/antonyms, comparing and contrasting, multiple meanings, figurative language, and analogies. You’ll notice that some of these areas are links, and that’s because I have units for them! I’m working to make them consistent (or as consistent as possible) content-wise and eventually have a unit for each area.
The activities you’ll receive in each unit as they’re updated include:
sorting activities (2)
3 variations of worksheets (5 each, 15 total)
comparing and contrasting worksheets (3-5)
story-based activity
narrative writing activity
group discussion activities (2)
task cards
I also have a set of task cards that cover 5 of these areas!
If you’re working to build vocabulary skills with older students—say 5th grade or older—these units could be great for you!
On another update note, there are a couple of new posts on the blog!
5 Ways To Make Your Classroom Calm And Cozy
3 Characteristics Of A Great Murder Mystery
Very different topics going on lately but fun and cozy ones for the fall season! 🍂
I hope you’ve had a great couple of weeks!
Until next time,
